Create a Submenu (Drop-down) Link to an Article

First, create an article if you have not already.

  • Submenu LinksGo to Menus and then click on mainmenu, or the menu where you wish to have your link.
  • Submenu Links: NewClick New.
  •  Submenu Links: Articles and Article LayoutClick on Articles and then Article Layout.
  • Submenu Links: DetailsEnter the Title (this will be the titled displayed in your menu).
    The alias will automatically be generated.
  • Click the Select button and then the Article (from the list in the pop-up window).
  • In the Parent Item box, click on the (parent) menu item.
    (About Us used here as an example).
  • Click Save

To see your new menu item, go to your website and refresh the page. You should now see the new submenu item linked to your article in the drop-down list when you hover over the menu item..

 

If your submenu does not appear when you hover over the parent menu item check to ensure that you are using a menu with a drop-down effect. Some menus use a split-menu style for child items and are only visible, often beneath the menu, after clicking on the parent item.
