FTP Installation

Download CoreFTP Procedures in a single PDF document.

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and is the general standard for transferring files to and from your server. There are many FTP client programs freely available on the internet. We recommend CoreFTP Lite or Filezilla.

This guide deals with downloading and installing CoreFTP Lite for Windows. Users of other FTP programs should check their program's guide for instructions specific to their program.

  • FTP: Save and RunAt the following screen click Run.
    This will download and immediately begin the program's installation. If you prefer, you can save the file to your computer and install it later.
  • FTP: Download ProgressThe follow screen will appear and show the file's download progress.
  • FTP: RunAfter the download completes, you will see this screen:
    (If you saved the file to you computer, find the file and double-click it to run it.)
  • Click Run.
  • FTP: Click NextClick Next.
  • FTP: NextA small, blue installation screen will pop-up and go away
  • Click Next.
  • FTP: NextClick Next.
  • FTP: NextClick Next.
  • FTP: NextClick Next.
  • FTP: NextClick Next.
  • FTP: InstallingYou'll then see this installation screen.
  • FTP: CompleteAfter the installation completes click Finish.
  • Click on the Windows Start button
  • Move the mouse pointer to Programs → CoreFTP and click on CoreFTP Lite.
  • CoreFTP will start up and will prompt you if you want to make it the default FTP program.
  • Click Yes to this prompt if you wane CoreFTP to be your default FTP client program.
  • FTP: Site ManagerYou will then see a large CoreFTP LE screen in the background with the following screen in the foreground.
    Here's where you will enter the FTP information you were given by a CalvaryWeb staff.
  • We entered some sample data to show you the areas you need to fill in.
    Also, make sure the bottom boxes are checked as shown and AUTH TLS is selected.
  • After you have entered all the information click the Connect button.
  • The first time you connect you will see a security Certificate Information screen.
  • Click the Always Accept button at the bottom. You will not see this screen again on future connections unless the certificate is updated.
  • If you correctly entered in the information, you should see a simialr screen:FTP: Connected
  • The left side shows the directory folders and files on your local computer.
  • The right side shows the directory folders and fols on the FTP server of your website.
